The specification, design and maintenance of mechanisms for storage and access to both structured and unstructured information, in support of business information needs.

The definition does not make it clear whether repositories of unstructured information are included here. The IM professionalism group thinks they should be and suggests indicating this by changing the name to Database/repository design.
